CCCL Film Festival 2023 Announces Award Winners

February 21, 2023 - Bangkok — CCCL Film Festival announced the award winners for its 3rd edition at Alliance Française Bangkok on Sunday, February 19, 2023. This year the festival set its highest record awarding 13 prizes to Thai as well as international filmmakers. The awards with cash prizes totaling THB 235,000, were given in multiple categories, including the main Jury Awards, the Youth Jury Award, the Audience Award, the Young Filmmaker Award, and the CCCL Special Award. The winning films were selected from over 230 submissions to the 2022 short film competition, and 34 finalists in the official selection screened at the festival. The panel of judges for the jury awards included film critic Prawit Taengaksorn, film producer Cattleya Paosrijaroen, and Kritsada Boonchai of Thai Climate Justice for All (TCJA) Network.

The award ceremony, held on the second day of the festival, was hosted by Earth Nirodha Ruencharoen. CCCL Film Festival thanks our sponsors and partners for their continued support and for presenting the awards. The award presenters included James Gulkin of Siam Canadian, Peter Eric Dennis, Fransiskus Tarmedi of Heinrich-Boell Foundation, Kasorn Kamnerdpetch, Deputy Director of the Office of Culture and Contemporary Art, Narindr Wangsriwattanakul of Sang Foundation, Somyos Kiataramkul, Deputy Director General of Thai PBS, Piriya Uraiwong of UNDP Thailand, Malaurie Carras of Alliance Française Bangkok, Annelie Langerak and Kathryn Bimson of CCCL Advisory Board. On the first day of the festival we were also honored to have key partners joining us, Dr. Sarah Tayler, Ambassador of Canada to Thailand, Renaud Meyer, UNDP Resident Representative to Thailand, Pornprom Wikitseth, Environmental Advisor to the Governor of Bangkok.
